Troon Ferry Port Overview

Troon Ferry Port is on the west coast of Scotland, in South Ayrshire. Troon harbour has been an important part of the town's history, starting with the Ailsa Shipbuilding Company, then the fishing fleet was moved to Troon and part of the harbour which had been abandoned was then revitalised to put into operation the Troon Ferry to Larne which is operated by P&O Irish Sea.

Troon is home to a famous golf course, the Royal Troon Golf course, which has hosted the Open Golf Championship on a number of occasions, Troon also has one of the largest beaches in Scotland.

Troon Ferry Port Directions
By Car
Located on the West coast of Scotland just South-West of Kilmarnock, Troon Ferry port can be reached via the A78 from the Irvine, north of Troon, or via the A77 from Kilmarnock. The ferry port will then be signposted.

By Bus
National Express operates a frequent service to Glasgow and Ayr, but from there a taxi or a train will be needed to get to Troon Ferry Port.

By Train
The Troon train station is located about 25 minutes walk from the Troon Ferry terminal. There are trains every half hour to Glasgow and Paisley, as well as other connections to Ayr, Newcastle and Kilmarnock.
